Monday 01:00 in Ontario 07:00 in Amsterdam

We just received "the call" that MOKUM is of the coast of Ijmuiden near Zandvoort and will stop at Ijmuiden and enter the North Sea Canal leaving salt water behind.
It will then take a couple of hours to traverse the canal and arrive somewhere in Amsterdam....Mokum. We have to hurry to try and see them off the coast...almost there...

Jan-Pieter:
For years you have "Dreamed The Impossible Dream," but now with the aid of good friends Erik, Pim, Martin, David, Elmer, Rainer and Bas, you have made it! How many people get such satisfaction out of life?
We would have loved to be there when you sailed into port and mixed you a "Hudson Manhattan" but I'll wait until you get home. Mother says that you have earned the Captains Cap that you were presented with before your departure.
Congratulations to All of you on such an exciting and great achievement.
Hurry Home,
Mother and Dad

Beste Jan Pieter,

Gefeliciteerd met jullie overtocht. We zijn trots op je!
Zoals Piet Veerman alheeft gezongen, zeilde jij de Mokum naar Nederland. We hopen jullie snel te zien. Ton & Jan Willem

Sailin` home across the ocean,
sailin` home we`re goin` to be free.
Down below the crew`s in motion,
to defy the violence of the sea.
Feelin` young, feelin` strong,
at the hight of the fight,
so nothing can go wrong.
We know we`ll always wanna be,
fighting the sea.

Giant waves are rollin` higher,
`s gonna be a cold and rainy night.
Hands on deck are raw and tired,
prayin` for a sign of distant light.
Feelin` young, feelin` strong,
and the might of the night,
is pounding dark and long.
We know we`ll always wanna be,
fighting the sea.

But there`s the light,
and there`s the fire.
The harbour key,
shines dimly on the shore.
We can see the steeple spire.
And we know ,
we won the fight once more.
Feelin` young, feelin` strong,
and tonight came out right.
But tomorrow could be wrong.
We know we`ll always wanna be,
fighting the sea.
Sailin’ home, sailin’ home.
